Why Doobie Brothers have sold out Meijer Gardens four times in a row



Three gigs and three years in a row, the Doobie Brothers sold out shows at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park from 2008 to 2010.

Jump ahead five years, and they’ve sold out Meijer Gardens’ amphitheater once again.
That’s staying power.

The Doobie Brothers scored their first Top 40 single – ‘Listen to the Music’ – more than 40 years ago in 1972. More than 40 million-sold albums later, audiences still are grooving to “China Grove” and “Takin’ It to the Streets.”

“The magic just happens. It’s kind of cool,” said singer and guitarist Tom Johnston in an interview with The Grand Rapids Press prior to band’s last appearance at Meijer Gardens.
